Candelight Bolzano!
We are happy to share this great news with you: since yesterday, we are officially part of the Candlelight concerts created by Fever! It was a beautiful evening, surrounded by the magic of thousands of candles, creating this intimate and warm atmosphere around us.
After a long break from playing together, on June 9th we began our new adventure with Candlelight concerts. We are thrilled to be part of a project that is taking place worldwide in more than 100 cities. Additionally, we are excited to play music we have never performed before.
We opened the evening at the Cristallo Theatre in Bolzano with the best soundtracks by Ennio Morricone, one of Italy's most famous film composers. Besides the great classics, like the music from Cinema Paradiso or Gabriel's Oboe, we also played soundtracks full of Italian flavor by other composers. Les Beatitudes (from La Grande Bellezza) by Vladimir Martynov, the La Dolce Vita theme, and The Godfather by Nino Rota. There was no better way to end the evening than with Ennio Morricone's music for The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly by Sergio Leone.
Then, at 9:30 pm, we played our second concert: a tribute to Coldplay. Reinterpreting rock songs is always a big challenge. The lack of percussion sometimes puts us in a difficult position. This was our first time performing an entire rock concert, in this case, Coldplay's favorite songs for a string quartet. It was a journey through their entire discography. We didn't miss the early songs like Yellow or Trouble, the latest ones like Something Just Like This or My Universe, and also the greatest hits like Clocks, Sky Full of Stars, and Viva La Vida.
We can't wait to see the new Candlelight concerts in Bolzano with the new programs. We hope it will be a long and wonderful adventure. And if you haven't been to a Candlelight concert yet, you are warmly invited to this event, whether performed by us or another string quartet from your city.
